Governance

The Mediterranean Maritime History Network is a loose formation of scholars not based on a formal association. It is strongly linked however with the International Maritime History Association and its conferences are scheduled to be in the mid-period of the International Maritime History Congresses. From 2000 to 2018 the main enthusiastic co-ordinator of MMHN remained Professor Carmel Vassalo, and MMHN was based in Malta.

Since then an MMHN collective steering Committee was formed to gear the network, provide for the continuation of its conferences and its scientific standards. The main concept is to have a steering and scientific committee formed by the organisers of the next and two previous conferences. In this way the current steering Committee 2018-2024 is composed of:
